FORMULATION of SPINOSAD for LARVAL BIOASSAYS
Start with the LABEL. The LABEL is the LAW. NATULAR 2ECTM
CONTAINS 20 % SPINOSAD.
Take 1 ml of NATULAR 2EC, dilute with 99 ml ACS acetone in a 100 ml volumetric flask. This is the STOCK solution.
Take 1 ml of the STOCK solution, dilute with 99 ml ACS acetone in a 100 ml volumetric flask. This is the TREATMENT solution.
==============================================================
Take 1 ml of the TREATMENT solution, add it to 249 ml larval water in a bioassay cup.
100 ppm X .20 = 20 ppm AI [spinosad] [NATULAR is 20 % AI]
20 ppm = 20,000 ppb
20,000 ppb X 1/250 = 80 ppb
80 ppb is the diagnostic concentration based on dose response bioassays performed at Rutgers University.
